Pappy Van Winkle Drawing Wines And More West in Milford CT

There are Bourbons, and then there are those made by Pappy. Buffalo Trace Distillery, located in Frankfort Kentucky, is producing the best, most award winning, and hardest to get Bourbons.  Due to the HIGH demand and LOW supply of these products, we have decided the fairest way to sell these bourbons listed below is to have a random email drawing. This month, we are pleased to announce our first annual:

Emails will be selected simultaneously on Dec 18th, 2013 @ 2pm.
The fortunate folks selected will have the option to purchase one of the following:
Pappy 23 YearVan Winkle 12 Year, or Old Rip 10 Year.
If you would like to enter our drawing, we ask that you sign up in person at:
Wines and More West, 242 Boston Post Road in Milford, CT.

Here’s the line-up:

Pappy Van Winkle 23 YearPappy Van Winkle 23 Year: This very rare, limited edition bourbon takes generations of distilling know-how to produce. Only the most careful and expensive distilling method can be used to create a whiskey as special as this one. Each barrel ages for 23 years and is carefully selected from the heart of the warehouse. This whiskey should be enjoyed neat.

Tasting Notes:

Early aromas of caramel and cream with soft notes of oak, nuts and leather. Features a sweet taste composed of vanilla, maple and honey joined by complimentary flavors of citrus and spice. Has a long lasting oaky finish, along with many of the early flavors.

Van Winkle Special Reserve 12 YearVan Winkle Special Reserve 12 Year: “A perfect combination of age and proof. The 12 years of aging and medium proof of 90.4 seem to be just right in creating a very pleasant drink of whiskey. This fine bourbon can compete with any excellent cognac as an after-dinner drink.” -Paul Pacult (Bourbon Enthusiast).  Rated 98 by the Beverage Tasting Institute.

Tasting Notes:

Highlighted by light aromas of dried mango, cocoa, fruit and spiced peach. Flavors of honey, oak and tobacco dance on the pallet. The finish is balanced and dry, with a lingering tingle.
Old Rip Van Winkle 10 YearOld Rip VanWinkle 10 Year:  At 107 Proof, this wonderful bourbon is bottled as close to barrel proof as possible. This whiskey is as smooth as any you will find. The more water you add to whiskey from its natural barrel proof to its bottle proof, the harsher it becomes. This 107 barrel proof seems to be just right. This bourbon takes a back seat to none. Rated 94 by the Beverage Tasting Institute.

Tasting Notes:
A sweet vanilla nose with caramel, pecan and oak wood. Smooth, mellow flavor consisting of robust wheat, cherries and oak. Features a long, smoky wheat finish with hints of fruit, spice and oak tannins.

Crown Royal XR- Waterloo Distillery750ml – Please call for pricing.
Crown-Royal-XR-Waterloo The nose opens to hints of fresh lumber, cedar, sweet licorice, floral and perfumed rye notes, then hints of pine. Dry grain, mash, hayloft, then sweet cigarette tobacco follow.   Crown XR Begins with mild toffee, like faintly floral corn whisky, and surprisingly, it tastes a bit salty. It’s sweet, but not cloying. Sweet rye baking spices show themselves right away then after a lot of other action they come back with hot flashes of cinnamon, nutmeg, cardamom, and generic ‘rye’ spices.  Longish, peppery, and warm, with bitter zest in the middle, then hot and vaguely sweet with hints of toffee.  This Distillery is no longer in production.  Once this stock is gone, Crown Royal Lovers will say good bye the Crown XR- Waterloo Distillery
